Papers, 1946-2001, of Irving Kristol, a writer, editor, publisher, public speaker, and educator. Thought by many to be the father of the neoconservative movement, he made broad intellectual contributions to, and was an influence on, social and political thought. He also played a large role in facilitating, encouraging, and promoting conservative thinkers. The papers consist mainly of correspondence concerning his publishing and editorial responsibilities with Basic Books, Inc., and The Public Interest, as well as that relating to his many other general business, professional, and organizational activities. He also corresponded with a wide circle of colleagues, associates, and friends, some of whom were, or became, prominent.
